Seattle Tour 2024

We began our tour this year by taking the ferry from Victoria, to Port Angeles, and then from Port Towsnsend to Whidbey Island!

We had beautiful weather, and all our first steps of travel went smoothly!

We were lucky to spend a bit of time sightseeing on lovely Whidbey Island and to have some excellent local folks to share their knowledge!

In the morning we got ready for our performance at St. Augustine in-the-Woods Episcopal Church, and at noon we shared the music we have been preparing over the semester with the local audience. The audience was warm and welcoming, and the concert went off brilliantly! Whidbey Island is home to some incredible musicians, and we were very appreciative to have them support our adventures there!

After the concert we were graciously hosted to a wonderful BBQ at the home of Tekla and David. We explored their beautiful property, sang in their restored barn and feasted on fabulous food. We cannot thank them enough for their amazing hospitality.

That evening we made our way to Seattle and checked into our hotel, worn out from all our hard work and performing! In the morning we headed to the Museum of Pop Culture and checked out The Music Experience they have on offer there! It was amazing!!

We realized here that we had the coolest director!

It wouldn't be a trip to Seattle without visiting the iconic Pike Place Market. There we gave a little concert and enjoyed the sights and the huge ferris wheel!

We also attended a beautiful choral concert by the Evergreen Ensemble, had wonderful dinner out and enjoyed some pool time at the hotel!

A highlight on Monday was our collaboration with the Seattle Girls Chorus. We had a great joint rehearsal and an inspiring workshop with the Byrd Ensemble, and then we all relaxed and enjoyed dinner and some social time together.

We spent our last day travelling home, full of gratitude for so many great experiences and new friendships! What a wonderful tour - thank you to all the organizations who joined us, and to the families who helped make it happen!!
