On the itinerary: Vrijheidsdiner… “Liberty Dinner” [Netherlands Tour 2015]

During our Bridging Generations tour in the Netherlands, we will nourish everything from our spirits to friendships, and our appetites.

On May 5, choristers will attend a “Freedom Meal” as part of Liberation festivities. As residents and visitors gather to share a meal, our singers will roam from table-to-table performing selections from our Tour repertoire.

Watch past Freedom Meal highlights:

This annual food festival celebrates the theme of freedom. Through decoration, music, dancing, naming of dishes, and specific ingredients (that were missing or dominant during times of war), hosts create an atmosphere for people of all ages get to know each other, and celebrate living in a place where diversity is welcome.

The Victoria Children's Choir is a Member of Choral Canada and the BC Choral Federation.

We would like to acknowledge that we gather on the unceded, ancestral lands of the Lekwungen speaking peoples – the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations, who have stewarded these lands and waterways since time immemorial, and whose connection to the land continues to this day. We are grateful to live, learn, raise our families, and make music on these beautiful lands. We would also like to acknowledge our Métis, Inuit and urban Indigenous partners and friends who call these lands their home.
