One of the most poignant places our Choir will visit, and perform, during their tour is the Canadian War Cemetery. On this site remain 1,393 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War (of whom 1,355 are Canadians).

In May, as Holland marks its war remembrance, twenty-five Victoria Children’s Choir students will join Dutch children to place flowers among the Holten graves. We will also sing to honour the soldiers contribution to freedom.

Those gathered at this event is anticipated to exceed 5,000, and include local and international dignitaries, relatives of the fallen, and people who wish to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Liberation.

The Victoria Children's Choir is a Member of Choral Canada and the BC Choral Federation.

We would like to acknowledge that we gather on the unceded, ancestral lands of the Lekwungen speaking peoples – the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations, who have stewarded these lands and waterways since time immemorial, and whose connection to the land continues to this day. We are grateful to live, learn, raise our families, and make music on these beautiful lands. We would also like to acknowledge our Métis, Inuit and urban Indigenous partners and friends who call these lands their home.
