The Choirs

The Choirs

Our three ensembles – the Concert, Recital, and Prelude Choirs – provide a customized repertoire of study. From September to June, students take part in vocal development, performance experiences, and lessons to understand music history, composition, and theory.

CONCERT CHOIR

Singers age 12 and older, who have a practiced understanding and love of choral music, study challenging pieces as they master their vocal abilities. Concert Choir instruction is designed to achieve an international-standard of singing.  Led by Artistic Director, Madeleine Humer, Concert Choir members receive a unique combination of expertise and encouragement needed to make music a rewarding, life-long adventure. The Choir is often invited to sing with leading symphony orchestras, in performances of major works, and tour both nationally and internationally.

Concert Choir Fees (2019 – 2020 season)
$149/month (payable on the first of each month from September to June) and a non-refundable deposit of $100 at the time of a child’s acceptance into the Choir.

Choir fees include:

  • 4.25 hours of professional instruction weekly from September to June
    Tuesdays 5:00 – 7:00pm
    Fridays 4:00 – 6:15pm
  • Musicianship (theory) instruction specifically tailored to choral singers.
  • Choir Camps – Three-day, two-night camps in September and January at Camp Imadene.
