Come see us perform in Pacific Baroque Festival 2018

Pacific Baroque Festival 2018

Why get a ticket for a Pacific Baroque Festival Concert?
Easy answer . . . because the performance will be one you long remember!  The reasons for this are because the music is played on instruments which are crafted from that specific era and therefore played with a different technique, creating sounds more intimate than on modern orchestral instruments.  This leads to transparent and personal music for the audience.   Above all, it is such fun and everyone in the intimate hall senses they are part of extraordinary music-making!
Why is the Victoria Children’s Choir involved?
10 years ago we were invited to perform Vivaldi’s Gloria.  At the time it was written, Vivaldi was working in Venice at one of the famous girl’s music orphanages, so there were no men to sing the Tenor and Bass parts.  The VCC was invited to participate and present an authentic version.  The result of four hugely successful performances led to an annual invitation by the Pacific Baroque Festival.  Since then, our young singers have delved into Baroque music from all over Europe.  The professional musicians in the Pacific Baroque Festival Orchestra and their director Marc Destrubé continue to be amazed and delighted with the spontaneity and fun our choristers bring to “ancient” music.  Together they create fresh and thrilling performance for our audiences.
These performances are not to be missed:
The VCC will be performing along side organist Alex Weimann and featured in a Gregorian chant section.
You will be delighted as the VCC performs with the Pacific Baroque Orchestra under the musical direction of conductor, Marc Destrubé with French musical delights.
