BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The West Coast Children’s Choral Society is the non-profit governing body that oversees management of the Victoria Children’s Choir. Directors are volunteers from a variety of professional fields and backgrounds who contribute knowledge, experience, and leadership to ensure the organization’s success. Every board member helps support the day-to-day needs of the Choir; including management of financial legal responsibilities, hiring and supervising of employees, and setting the vision and practices that guide choristers, employees, and volunteers.

Paul Boughen’s interest in singing, choral music, and the musical education of children inspires his leadership of the Board of the West Coast Children’s Choral Society. His energy and passion are devoted making sure the organization excels in music-making for the young students, families, and community. Paul believes there is great value in volunteerism and in developing and maintaining the diversity of the arts, and applies his experience and interests to the business of financial and administrative stability that will allow the Choir to grow.
Day-to-day Choir business is overseen by our experienced staff members who turn the vision, needs, and opportunities of all our stakeholders into our successful music program.

Position: Executive Director
As Executive Director, Carla oversees operations, strategic planning, and stakeholder relations to further the mission of the Board of Directors: creating “music that is meant to be shared” with students and the community.
Carla is currently a Managing Partner at Bridge Productions, and was Sr. Vice President, Operations at Reboot Communications Ltd. for 10 years. Prior to that, she was the General Manager of Pacific Sport – Fraser Valley. Carla holds a B.A. from the University of Alberta and an M.A. from the University of British Columbia.
She has served on over a dozen committees and boards with youth and/or social impact, including: heART for Hospice Art Auction, KidSport Victoria, Victoria Minor Hockey Association, Team 2010 – Abbotsford, Tourism Abbotsford, the Provincial Advisory Board for Regional Sport Development, Operation Red Nose Provincial Advisory Board, and the BC Olympic Youth Leadership Academy Board.
Carla is a former competitive gymnast and coach, an avid reader, and insatiable traveler, and currently a very enthusiastic hockey Mom.
