About the Choir

We study, practice, and perform extraordinary music.

Every season (September through June), more than eighty children (ages seven to eighteen) join us to advance their singing abilities. Our Concert, Recital, and Prelude Choirs are a specialized program of musicianship, vocal technique, and public singing experiences that meet or exceed international standards.

For fifteen years, our award-winning music team, led by Artistic Director (and Founder) Madeleine Humer, has mentored children in a progressive curriculum. Today, hundreds of students have found their voice, confidence, and a great appreciation for music.

MUSIC PHILOSOPHY

“Music should be learned and shared.” All young musicians benefit from discovering the power of vocal sound, rhythm, and the music’s rich, unifying history. Students who learn to share their individual talents achieve the highest standards of excellence, and mature to be life-long musical artists. A chorister’s musical experience lasts a lifetime.

EDUCATIONAL GOAL

Each singer who participates in our Concert and Recital choirs has an exceptional learning opportunity. Through training and practice, we empower children to achieve a high standard of vocal and choral skills, in alignment with each individual’s talents and commitment.

Our songs challenge and celebrate the instrument of voice!

The Choir repertoire includes rare and well-known compositions, custom arrangements, and special commissioned works, in classical to contemporary styles. Our songs require precise technique and dedicated training in order to master complex arrangements and poetic verse (sung in many languages). Students are excited to discover our music, and are supported to excel in their singing through an academic approach that is styled to appeal to youth, and make learning a fun experience.

We sing our hearts out.

Choristers perform their award-winning repertoire to the delight of community audiences at signature concerts, guest appearances, and events, and continue to raise their voice with confidence in the future.
